Jayalalithaa urges Centre to stop work at Kudankulam nuclear plant

On the eve of second phase local body polls voting, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa said her govt was firm on suspension of work on the controversial Koodankulam project till people's concern were addressed.


A resolution to this effect was adopted at the state cabinet headed by Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa this evening, an official press release said.
Taking objection to Union Minister in PMO V Narayanasamy blaming the state for the delay in forming the high level expert panel as promised by the Prime Minister to allay the fears of the locals , she alleged that centre is not having proper corrospondence with the state and urged it to take all steps to solve the Koodankulam issue instead of blaming the state.
