Rains play spoilsport over second India England one dayer in southampton

Forecasts in Southampton have predicted that rain could play spoilsport in the second One Day International between India and England on Tuesday. 

Showers are expected through the day and pose a serious threat to the all-important match.

Latest forecasts have predicted rain to interrupt play during the first innings of the match.

Heavy rains are expected till 2000 hrs (IST) followed by cloudy weather. Scheduled start of play: 1830 (IST).

Rain could also mean that if at all play happens, conditions will be conducive to seam bowling, which will directly fall in favour of the English bowlers.

The assistance to pace bowlers could also expose the Indian batting line-up which is carrying a number of fresh faces after injury had ruled its regular players out.

This comes after the first One Day International at Durham was abandoned in the eighth over of the second innings after perrenial rain.

India were in a strong position to register their first win over England in this series, but several showers at short intervals meant that no further play could take place.
